The Carterton Rivals first met the Greytown Fire Brigade at Carterton on Saturday, and, after a good game the home team won by four points to love.

The Masterton and Red Star Clubs bad a combined practice on the ground of the latter on Saturday. There waß a large attendance of members of both Clubs, and some good form'was shown, Sides were selected by Whatman and Iggulden, and after a good game the former's team wo.i by a goal and two tries (5 points), to a goal and a try (i points), For the winners J. and H. Perry scored the tries, and H, Welch converted one into a goal, On the losing side 0. Perry kioked a goal from a mark, and Walter Welch scored a try.

The following team of the Masterton football Club will play a match on Saturday next agabst a mixed team of the Te Ore Ore and Masterton Clubs, play to commence at 2,45 p.m. sharprßacke, H, Hill, B. S, Hirschberg, E. Holmwood, J. Perry, H. Perry, C, Perry; Forwards, J. Bannister, 0. Bannister, W. Day, Summer, T. Wallace, Rockel, G. Welch, W, Welch, Whatman. As the team to play against the Wellington F.C, oi) Queen's Birthday will be Selected after next Saturday's practice, all members are requested to roll up.

The Carterton Rivals have challenged the Red Stars for a match, which, having been duly accepted, will take place at Masterton on Saturday next.
