It is reported that the placing of the balance of the South Australian loan at par early in the present month was.;merely a nominal transaction, and that the South Australian Government will.be compelled to give the brokers a private concession equivalent to.one half percent. Sir Arthur Blythe, Agent-General for South Australia, refuses to give any information on the subjeot. Tho' ratification of'the Sugar Bounties Convention by Parliament is considered doubtful.
