The Dixon- treet Creek.
(To Ibe Editor,) Sib,—l desire to explain with reference to She. Inspector of Nuisances late report that there is not, nor has there ever been any dam on my portion of the creek. Four years ago I placed a swing-gate there, six inches above the natural level of the water. Obstructions lowor down lmve now raised the stream bytoninohes, and the swing gate now rests upon the' water.. If the Council kept the creek running at its natural level there would bo no stagnant water, and my swing gate would bo half a foot clear of the water. i lain,&c., Jab. Maoara,
