Housebreaking ExtraordinaryNew Plymouth, February 12. An extraordinary case of housebreaking occurred at.lnglewood on Saturday last. Alexander Long, a leading settler and member of the Town Board, School Committee, &c, was caught coming out of the window at Marsh's store at midnight. He had taken from the store 80 straw hats, valued at £lO 12s, American oilcloths, clock, tobacco, and a variety of other articles worth over £2O, He was arrested to-day, and'brought to New Plymouth,'where he will be charged with breaking and entering, He has a wife and a large family, and is in good circumstances. He had apparently no motive for the crime.
