Busses yersus Trams.
Wellington, Thursday. An action began before the Supreme Court to-day, in whioli tho proprietor of the line of .-'Busses running in opposition' to the Trimway Company, sues the latter for £7,500 damages, by tho infringement of the patent for cars suitable to run eithor on or off the' rails. The plaintiff gave. evideuce that the manager pf the Tramway Company, after asking what lie would charge for a royalty to use those cars, told him that ho was going to have a number built, whether the plaintiff liked it or not, and as the Company had shown themselves strong enough to get au A'ot passed in their interest last session, he had no doubt, they would have influence .enough to prevent them doing anything in the matter, . . \
Auckland Water Supply.
: _Auoland,. Thursday. The auxiliary water from the Western springs was turned on today, It will furnish 550,000 gallons! daily, or one fourth of the previous supply. This will be sufficient for the city and suburbs even in the event of a'-very. dry summer. Trains commenced riuiuing yesterday on the Kuihu falley railway for the full length of 17 miles, up to the bushes held as endowment by the Company. ' ■' .
