Eaten by a Shark.: Another horrible death of a bather : '- from the attack of a shark took place (aays the Sydney Morning News of the 10th December), in'the Iron Cove yesterday afternoon, in' the vicinity of which four other similar • deaths have .occurred. The victim ■ was a little boy named Stephen Carter, • aged 11 years, son of William' Carter, residing at No. 48, Balniaine, and the oiroumsfiia' ' connected'with the sad affair are ."','■■ pecularly painful. The lad was Bent from home shortly after two o'clock " : '■'' to go to Sunday-school, but instead of doing so he went to bathe with three other boys,' The place so'lec'ted •' . was near the sawmills, closetothe Iron Cove bridge, in Iron Cove, and after bathing some time tho boy came' out of the water with the. intention' V of dressing. Unfortunately for him, <% he changed his mind, and decided to have another dive. While he was in the water the second time he suddenly' disappeared beneath the surface, and directly afterwards the water became tinged with blood. . Conjecturing that their comrade'had ' been taken'by a sharlv the-other 1 boys lost no time in getting out of the ; water: The police- were, notified'of .'."
