This brings tho number on the roll down to ,197, the number of girls being 120 and the boys 77i" The average attendance of scholars for tho year has beon 127. The school is divided into 11 classes, 4 boys and 7 girls.. The school is opened and closed with singing aiid prayer. ~ We havo an American .organ which is used to assist the singing. Miss Perry being the organist, :.Tlio l conduct of the schooPmay be consulted .good. .lor this wo are greatly indebted to tho excellent management of our public schools whore the childreu are so well trainod. . AVe continue to distribute periodicals to tho children monthly, On tlio first Sunday in each month each boy and , girl'-' reboivfls an illustrated periodical, The number of these papers distributed to tho scholars during the year in this- ' way lias been IG3B, To help to pay for ' these periodicals, and other expenses of i the school, each class has a money-box ) into winch they put their contributions, j except on the first Sunday of the month, , whon a collection is taken up tor Home _ Missions. This collection is also taken up in boxes, one for the boys and, one f for the girls. All the boxes are opened once a quarter, and tho contents read out to the School, ' In this way tho School l has collocted £L 18s Od for Home Missions, and £3 7s 6d-towards genoral expenses. • The total income of tho School has been £4B Us Bd, and tho 'expenditure £4llßs 4d, leaving a credit balance of £H3s4d. Tho Library, s which contains 300 books, is well patron- ', isod, more particularly by the girls, and r we are in hopes of adding to tho present j supply shortly; but that will depend to j somo extent on the success of these ' Anniversary Services. At intervals the Suuday Sohool children sang several of their anniversary liyms, and, judging by the anplauso the singing was highly appreciated. Votes of thanks were carried by acclimation to all those ■ who • had assisted in malting the anniversary a success, including tho teachers, the conductor of the singing (Mr Galloway) Mr Hoar, and to all those who had contributed towards fcliorefreßliinent3. A. very enjoyable meeting was then brought to a close with singing and prayer,
