Mr Law on the Bank of New Zealand Report. , '
: Auckland, October 23. The late manager of the Adelaide Branch of the Bank of New Zealand, Mr Horiry Law, writes a long letter to the Star'ih reference to his connection^with.the bank.... Ho denies the aasortion in. the committee's report that tho money of the bank had been sqandered in Adelaide, and attributes; the losses'of that branch to the unparalleled depression oxisting from 1888 to 1880. Mr Law also refers at considerable length to clause 118 of the deed of settlement, about which some discussion arose at Monday's meeting,and contends that that clause makes it; incumbent that the bauk should go into liquidation upon it appearing that losses have been sustained equal to one-half of the capital, and that it can only be resuscitated at the next half-yearly meeting by a vote of three-fourths of the actual paid-up capital.

William Meads m charged at iho Police Court to-day with using threatening language, to',George Morgan, a Maori.
