" An Energetic Tradesman. In referring our readers this week to the important advertisement of Mr J. T. Glover, Queen's Foundry and Engineering Works, Boulcott Street, Wellington wo might supplemont tho notice given in tho advertising coluum s by a description of the building, machinery, etc, The manufactory is situate in Boulcott Street, close to Willis Street, and covers a largo extent of ground. It is two storeys high and divided into three large workshops. Tho downstairs portion the building' is used for tho inarmMcturo of all descriptions of engineering implements, andin it is contained some of tho finest machinery in the colony. Amongst tho items of machinery contained below may be mentioned an immense turning lathe, which extends almost right across the floor from end to end. The loolb used in connection with this lathe, are, like the machino itself, of superior quality, and used in turning out first class work. A considerable amount of other classes of machinery is kept here,'a novelty being tho Eureka planing machine,' which is used in planing iron. Mr Glover informed our representative that this was the only machino of its kind in the colonies. Tho furnace at the roar of the premises is kept burning by a double automatic hydraulic blast, tho working of which is in jtself a curiosity.. The upstairs department iis oalled the pattern room, from the faot that all the patterns for pulleys, stamps, dies, presses, etc, are manufactured there. Tho wood is out out roughly with acircukeawworked by themacbinorybelowandthenmodolled andrefluodbythebandor fret saw. Mr Glover is meeting with a great domand for the new joiner (a now patent machine used only by joiners) and is just now fulfilling another order. Photographs of tho now patent may bo seen in the establishment, We would' also inform our readors that the proprietor of tho Queen's Foundry takes orders for all sorts of brass and eopper work, tinsmith's tools, preserving plant, saw nnllmachinoryigasand'watoronginos, browing plant and all sorts of boilermakhig and smith-wort. Ho is alpo prepared to exeoute printing machino contracts, having successfully laid tho pripting-machinery in tho offico of ■nthisparier.' MrGlovoj has pfant in 3 tnsiiifitotwnp to 'the r '■.'...-:

Tho top and bottom doors are also on the latest 'prinoiplp, In ■ connection with tho Wairaiapa Dairy industry Mr Glover is getting out patterns for a new description of dairy plant to be used in the manufacture of dairy produce. In conclusion, attention might be called to tho new Magdalon Motor, a new patent of tho proprietor's, which, from its cheapness and adaptability, bids fair to havo a wonderful sale.— Catholic Times.
