Mr Olsen, a settler at Parkville jot very badly injured While bushfalling about five miles from here on

15th inst, Thursday, It appears that in falling a tree, by some unaccountable means,Ufell quite theopposite way he thought it would, In running away from it his.foot caught in something, and before he could extricate himself the upper branches of the tree caught hiin. Dr Milne was sent for and arrived here before the man was brought in. I hear that his head is injured and several of his ribs broken, There is very little to record this week, everything is. very quiet,, Letters have been received here from Mr T. 0. Williams asking for the consent of the leaseholders'to allow him to purchase to the sections, I atn'rather in the dark to know what he is going to do with the frontages when he has purchased them. 1 am told (but not directly from him) that the money he pays for the frontages will be handed over to the Eketahuna JRoad Board to repair the road, The question is: la Mr Wil-
