MEETING OF CREDITORS.

! A mooting of creditors in tlie estate of Peter Sophus Christensen was held yesterday. Mr W. Sellar, Deputy Assignee presided, and Mr Skipper appeared for ih debtor, four creditors being present. The debtor made tho following statement:—" I am a butcher, but at the dote of filing was moving into Mauricevillefrom Maiigamahoe, where 1 carried on a butchery and boarding house business. Mr wife looked after the boarding house and took the money and paid.the butchers and others as far as it went, During the last six months I knew, the business was not paying, but I continued expecting the contractors would be putting on more' men and business might improve. I was forced to file in consequence of Mr Jessen suing me.~] have nothing to offer my creditors further than I have given in my statement.

Examined by Mr Jesseu,a creditor: I did not carry on business as boarding house keeper. My wife kept it. There was no profit. derived from the business. The money I spent in grog or beer was what I earned at butchering. The butcher's account is for beef. I lulled my own sheep and pigs. I have never stayed out a week at a time drinking. I was always sober, except the last' time I was away. It takes very little to upset me. I sold a cow for £4 a short time since. I have not spent £2 in drink in the last six months. I sold the cooking utensils for £2 Bs, out of whiok I paid my lawyer 80s. I did not try to arrange with you (Mr Jessen) Your account was with my missus. I ordered moat from a butcher for my missus.
