On Clause i, giving power to Natives to alienate their lands in the same way as Europeans.- Sir Georgo Grey moved an amondment restricting the purchase by any one European to £I,OOO worth. Mr Taipua spoko at great length against theßhVand Taiwhanga re- ■ .sumed, the principal portion ol his remarks being devoted to a reading of .' mehts of various writers thereon, At V 10 o'clock this morniug clause 4 wd Sir George Grey's amendment were still under discussion.
