MASTERTON HOSPITAL.

' The regular monthly meeting of the Hospital Trustees was held in tho .Institute on Thursday. Present.— Messrs J. 0. Boddington (Chairman), . J. B. Keith, B. P. Porry, J. loms, and L Bev. W. E. Paige. |f _ The minutes of the previous mooting wore read and confirmed, : The Treasurer reported a credit balaiic'o of j!6l Correspondence was read from Secretary, Wellington and Ohristcliurch hospitals forwarding copies of by-lhws. From Mr Danaher stating the mau Murphy was not in.Ms employment, also stating ho found great difficulty in disposing of Hospital tickets. From Auditor-General returning balance sheet, duly passed as correct. It wa3 resolved that the rule of the Wellington Hospital hearing upon valuables and effects of patients be adopted by . the trustees. A sub-cornnm'.ee consisting of the • Chairman, the Eev W, E. Paigo and J. B. Keith were appointed to draw W up a code of rules for the management of the Hospital. The Hospital diary was read, The Chairman said from a record of the accident cases it appeared a mijority came from tho Forty-Mile Bush », District. Tho subscriptions from that : locality woro very small and he thought some offort should be put forth to increase the number of subscribers. Accounts amounting to 11 4s fid for current expenditure were passed for payment. Miss Selina Sutherland sent, per favor of the Bev. J. Paterson a very handsome pocket case, completely fitted with silver plated surgical instr uraents of every description. Tho ■ Custodian said it was the very thiug the Hospital required. . The Chairman said the gift was from a lady who had taken groat interest in the Hospital and had formerly been matron. Whilst in that capacity sho had done her utmost to induce her many friends in the Wairarapa to subscribe to that institution, and had forwarded their interests by jr every means in her power. Q It was resolved that a cordial aud f hearty vote of thanks bo conveyed to Miss Sutherland for her useful and valuable present. ■ Mr Perry reported that the ploughing had been, done at the Hospital grounds, and lie recommended that the question of Spring or Autumn green sowing should be held over. : Tho report,'was adopted, and,tho visiting member authorised to engage the services of a man to assist in digging between the trees, , Sundry repairs to chimney woro authorised to he done, and certain weights procured that wero wanted.
