FOOTBALL.
K meeting of the Management Committed of tlio Wellington Rugby Union was held last evening. A letter was received from tlio Wnirarapa Union, asking when it wm proposed to play the annual match between the two Unions. It was decided to reply that the match could bo. played at Wellington on tlio Bth September. The secretary of tbe country Union also asked when the Representative Junior Hatch—Wellington v. Wairarapa—was to be played. The Committee decided lo take no action in the matter.
As the North and South Wairorapa County Football Match has fallen through the Masterton and Te Ore Ore Clubs will try conclusions on Saturday next on tho Masterton Club ground.
The Red Star Football Olhb lias just experienced a severe loss iu its milks, owing li, Thompson and W, Thomas having, left tlio district. The former was, without doubt, the best junior back in the district, and tho latter, as a wing mancould find a place in any club in tho Wairurapa Union.
