LAND BOARD.

Tlio usual monthly meeting of the: land Board was bold at Wellington, Present: Messrs J. W. A. Marchant (in the olmir), W. W. McCardle,and W. A. Fitzherbert. An application from Mr W. A. Burling to have section 8, Block IX, Mount Cerberus. withdrawn from the small run system and offered ou perpetual lease at 10s per acre was approved. The Commissioner brought beforo the Board the question of withdrawing section 210, Block IX, Waipawa, from the small run system, and offering it under the Act of 1887, at 10a per acre. Approved, The Pahiatua Road Board forwarded plans and proposals for expending accrued thirds in their district,. It was resolved to refer the proposals back to the Road Board for more definite information as to where the money is to be spent, and in what manner. The Commissioner reported on an application to purchase a portion of the Crown land in the Oahanga and Puketoi survey districts. It was resolved to offer the land subject to survey, roads aud reserves to be taken, so as to form part of a definite scheme, The Commissioner informed the Board that Mr Wrattan had removed timber valued at 85s from Crown Lands Makara, without permission, but lie-had now paid the aboveamount. ; Resolved to call the attention of the ranger to the fact that it is believed that great quantities. of timber are i being removed from Crown lands in the district. The Commissioner read a circular received from the UnderSecretary of Crown Lauds with preference to the'limit allowed a purchaser undeFtheLand Aot of 1887, pointing out that any applicant is m a position to make the required declaration' as long as the": land included in his application, together with any land he may previously have acquired under the Act of 1887 in any land district, does not oxceeda total area of 2640 acres within that district. The Ranger forwarded a report on Mr BgUnton's application for portion of Crown lands in Owoko district, Palliser Bay. It was resolved that all Crown lands in the vicinity be offered for application, Mr W. Farrell applied to he allowed to select the Crown Lands between his sections 17 and 19, Blocks XV and XL, Mangaone, aud the main road, on deferred payment and perpetual lease. It was resolved to throw open all Crown lands and those in the Mangatainoka Block. The Commissioner submitted plans of the Crown lauds in the Te Rewa block, Otamakapua. It was resolved to offer Section 1, blookXlV., Ongo, at £3 per aero, weighted with value of improvements, aud tho other sections to be offered at from J2l to .£llss per aero.
