Wairarapa North County Couucil.

An extraordinary meeting of the Council was held on Saturday. Present Cra W. H. Jjuettiam (in the chair), Von Reden, Dagg and Meredith, The rates an per schedule were struck. A general rate of one eighth of a penny in the £ over the wholo County; a separate rate in the Masterton Riding of one farthing in the £; Alfrcdton nine-sixteenthii do; Castlepoint five-eighths do; Wainnioru fivosixteenths do; Akitio fivo-sixths do ; Pnhiatua three-eighths; to ho levied upon the rateable values of all the rateable property within tho County, as appearing on the Valuation Rolls, payable in one instalraeut on Monday, 13th August 1888. Cra Beetham and Dagg were appointed to sign the rate books, The district over which Mr Harford is ranger was extended to the Mauriceville Bond District,

It was resolved that notice be given to Mr Macara that he must comply with the wheel tiro by-laws within fourteen days, otherwise proceedings will be taken, against liiin, ..
