Yesterday an adjournment was made to 7.80 pm, and at the subsequent sitting it was announced that a compiomise had beeu auived at The matter had been discussed by both sides during the lecess and the fol lowing lesolutions weie adopted - That the Otago Cential Hallway be oxtended to a point some eight 01 ton miles beyond Taieri Lake (the name of the locality lie believed was Eweburn); that tho Government shall contract the line, aud shall set aside sufficient land for the purpose, such land to be dealt 'with accordance with the land laws of the Colony; that the extension of the railway shall be commenced and completed with the least possible delay. Further discussion was deferred until Monday, and the House adjourned at 8,80.
