CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor),

Sir,— while looking over the Daily osoic 29th inst, I was very ranch taken with the able and brilliant manner in which your reporter acquitted himself in his criticism on the entertainment following the recent tea meeting. Re seems to possess an amount of wit that almost rivals Mark Twain, The delicate way lie expresses sympathy for the singers is also very touching. I quite agree with him that it is distressing when one has not very much confidence either to sing or play to have an instrument out of tune to help them out of their difficulty, especially whenthesingers ave decidedly shaky as to which note to begin from, as was the case with one individual whose false start produced a startling eflect, which was altogether unconcert-liko, and, being a person win is naturally bland and child-like, the unusual sound caused his risible faculties to be more easily aroused, and the graceful way he held his music upside down would tend to increase his amusement, as it is not usual to commence a song at the end of the composition, But I suppose that is purely a matter of taste. Looking forward with pleasure to more elegant (illusions I rem the pen of the valuable scribe—l am, &c., Owner Supeuanuatkp Piano. May 31st.
