MASTERTON BOROUGH.
Estimated Receipts and Expenditure. The Finance Committee met at the Council Chambers on Monday 21st, 1 inst,, at 7.80 p.m. Present-The Mayor (Chairman), and Crs Macaw, Muir, and T. Chamberlain. The estimates of revenue and expenditure for the current financial year were read. It was decided to recommend the Council to bring the expenditure on the pound within the income, as at present it is worked at' a loss, and to make the new arrangement start from Ist July next/ The estimated income is £25, and the expenditure £4O. The estimate for Charitable Aid, £l5O it was resolved to recommend be struck out.
Amotion to discontinue the grant to the Park was lost on the voices. - It was resolved to recommend the Council to strike general rates over the whole-Borough the same as last year, and make it payable in two equal instalments.
The estimates as finally adopted are as follows
Expenditure Salaries £325, Bent £SO, Advertising &c.. JL6O, Sundry Expenditure LGO, Interest,L9o, Park L2O, Audit L2O, Fire Prevention Ll6O, Street Maintenance LSOO, Street Lighting Ll4O, New Works L4OB. Total—Llß33.
Income License Fees L4OO, Dog Tax L 35, Pound Fees L 25, Fines and Fees L2O, Rents LIOO. General rate Is in the L, L 1258. Total—Llß33.
