James Matthews was charged with assaulting his wife on the 14th inst. Christina .Matthews being sworn, deposed that her husband had been drinking for the hist two or three weeks. Last night he dragged her by her hair and put her out of the house, and he had frequently threatened her life. She now sought to have him bound over to keep the peace, After hearing evidence, the accused was bound over to keep the peace for six months, himself in £2O and two sureties of .€lO each, in default 14 days' hard labor.
