Hong Kong, May 12. The Chamber of Commerce has protested against tho action of the Australian Governments in excluding the Chinese, affirming that such action imperils the British interests in China and will alienate the sympathies of of that country from England. London, May 14. Tho Shanghai correspondent of the Standard telegraphs that the English residents in China deprecate tho action of the Australian Governments in excluding Chinese. AUSTRALIAN, ' Melbourne, May 14. A great property boom has set in here and during the last three days 'transactions covering, £3,000,000 sterling are reported. Sydney, May 14. Sydney, May 17. Cardinal Moran, in the course of an interview, said the colonies were acting in an arbitrary and unchristian spirit in prohibiting Chinese from landing. He admitted that formerly he had lisld a'"different opinion, but after careful consideration he had seen good cause to change his views. A great deal of the agitation, he said, was fictitious, and got up by loafers and others, who were too lazy to work.
Sir George Grey in an address given at Auckland last night staled he was going to Wellington with the firm determination to prevent an influx of Chinese.
