LAND BOARD.
The Wellington Land Board met oil Thursday last. Present-Commis-sioner J. W. A, Marchant (chairman), Messrs Beetham, M.H.R., W. W. McCardle, aud D. 11. Macarthur, M.H.R. Applications to transfer were approved as follows: —Mr H. Cooper, section 6, Block XV., Mangahao, to himself and his brother R. Cooper. Mr G. D. Rennart was granted permission to capitalise on section 58, Block 1,, Makariri, The application of Mr J. Hughes to be allowed to complete title to 15t$, Block VI., Kairanga, was approved. Applications were received from the selector of section 12, Block 111., Makiriri, and from the selector of section 1504, Block X., Kairanga, for time to make payments in arrear. .In the former oaae no action was to be taken if payments were made soon, and in the latter the applicant was to be requested to pay up at once. Messrs D. Sheehy and D, Thomasen applied to have small run section 145, Block X., Mangaone, offered as a deferred payment section at 17s. It was resolved to recommend Government to offer it as second-class laud at 10s, under the Act of 1887. It was decided on the application of Mrs S. Eaton to recommend Government to have sections 25 and G, Blgok 11. and 111., Manga-
one, separated, and' offered separately. The Commissioner sub- r mitted a scheme of sections proposed to be offered as email runs in the Mikiwiki district. Approved; sec- . tions to be offered under the new M , at 10s. It was resolved to Ganger to report at his earliest convenience on the application of Mr H. Egliuton for portions of the Crown lauds adjoining sections 82,21, fa., Western Lake. The Steward V.H.S.S. ■ wrote stat&g that his instructions to settlors had been understood as regards erection of housas on sections which have been badly burned. He suggested that the settlers should be compelled to build except in extreme cases, It was resolved to ask the Steward for a more detailed report. It was decided to pay the Official Assignee, Masterton, in hand received as value effected on D. F. McCarthy's forfeited ' section as for the estate. . The Wangaehu Eoad Board •submitted' proposals for building a bridge over the Wangaehu River, and proposed to hypothecate the future payments from sections 8 and 9, Block XIV., Mangawhero. ■lt was decided that ( the proposal be approved, provided the plan bo in order and the selectors agree. A resolution was Carried that.the Survey Office be requested to fura|h information as to lands to be shjjfr offered for selection. The schedule showed that during the month 2865' acres 2 roods and 4 perches had been disposed of at an upset price of £962 12s Id.
