North Wairarapa Benevolent Society.

' 'V ■ A meeting of the Trust' was held yesterday. Present Messrs Pay ton, (chairman), Keith, Galloway, and Macara. The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed, the Treasurer reported a credit balance of I2G Gs 3d, and accounts outstanding to amount of £sl Os 9d. It was resolved on his motion to apply to the District Board for. an advance of 180, and in the interim to obtain, if necessary, a temporary overdraft at the bank, The Secretary was instructed to ascertain terms cn which the use of the Oddfellows Hall could be obtained for Trust meetings. The Chairman reported that he had asked Mrs Graham if she would kindly act as ret'ereee to the Trust, in cases where advice might be needed, and that this lady was willing to do so. On the motion of Mr Keith, the arrangement made by the Chairman was confirmed. The Treasurer, Mr Keith, intimated that other engagements precluded him from continuing his office, and on his motion the Secretary was appointed Treasurer, with an addition of £5 to his salary, to cover the extra work added to his duties. A unanimous vote of thanks was passed to Mr Keith for his past valuable services. The Secretary reported that one new case had been temporarily, relieved. A letter was read from the Rev, Mr Rowse, asking the Trust to resume aid to a case formerly on the books. This application was held over for further investigation. The meeting then adjourned.
