Sydney, April 23. A public meeting held in the Domain to-day passed resolutions condemning the action of the Imperial Government in advising her Majesty the Queen to refuse her assent to the New South Wales Divorce Extension Bill, passed lust session, censuring Dr Barry, the Anglican Bishop of Sydney, for the action he took in opposing tho Bill, Melbourne, April 23. i Mrs llippeport, wife of Mr Itappeport, J,P., has been arrested ou i a charge of stealing jewellery, tiro property of the wife of the Hon. Simmon Eraser, in January last. The shock of being arrested has prostrated her so much that her life is despaired of, and in consequence the charge lias been withdrawn, The arrest caused a great sensation. The police are taking proceedings against Boland and Carroll who fought for the light-weight championship on Saturday.
