WAIRARAPA RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION.

The general meeting of delegates was held at Carterton last evening, April 13th, The following members were present: Messrs W. Udy (Chairman); E. Udy, C. Beard (Greytown); E. M. D, Whatman, P. 11. Cox, C, Perry [proxy] (Masterton); Betliune, Snodgrass, and Downard (Carterton); Maniheri Maaka (Te Ore Ore); Iggulden, D'Arcy, P. Pelling [proxy], (Red Stars); S. H. Wickerson, (Secretary). The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The correspondence included various communications which had passed between the Secretary (Mr Wickerson) and Mr Jas. Lilly white, manager of the English team of footballers. Proposed by Mr Cox, seconded by Mr Snodgrass, That the Union send the Secretary to Wellington as a delegate to interview Mr Lillywhite, with a view of arranging a match with the English team in the Wairarapa. Carried. Resolved—That in the event of a match with the English team, the charge of admission at the gate be 2s for male adults and Is for ladies and children.

It was resolved that the Union approve of the suggestion of the Wellington Rugby Football Union that a match should lie played between the English team and a combined New Zealand team, and this Union suggests that it be played in Wellington. . Eesolved—That the Secretary again write to the Wellington Union, urging them to arrange ,the Junior Representative match at an early date, and ask them upon what basis they propose to select teams. The election of a delegate in the place of Mr P. W. R. Seed, Carterton, who could not undertake tho duties this season, was next proceeded with, and, on the proposition of Mr Whatman, seconded by Mr Iggulden, Mr Betliune was unanimously elected to fill the position. The nominations for the Junior Cup were then taken as follows: Red Stars two teams, Masterton one, Te Ore Ore one, Rivals one, Greytown one. For the Senior Cup, Greytown, Rivals, and Masterton, one team each, It was resolved that the Senior Cup matches be played in double rounds, each club to play the other clubs twice during the season, and that the Club securing the greatest number of wins be deolared the winner.

That any man wishing to join another Club or Clubs must bring a clearance from the Club lie previously belonged to, That the Cup matches be commenced on t/l}e first Saturday in J we.

The drawing for time and places for the Cup matches was then proceeded . with, the following being the result: i Senior Cup.—Greytown playsßivals ' at Greytown, Saturday June 2nd, Masterton plays Rivals at Carterton, on | June 9th, Masterton plays Greytown }at Masterton on June 10th. In these i contests,'the second round is reversed, I Junior Cup,—Masterton Plays Ist | Stars at Masterton, June 2nd, Te Ore Ore plays Rivals at Masterton Juno 9th, Greytown plays 2nd Stars June 16th, Mr \V. Iggulden brought forward his notice of motion for inserting the the words" foul play" in the by-laws, which was agreed to. It was decided that a match North v South Wairarapa be played at Carterton on the second Saturday in May. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting,
