SUPREME COURT.
Tuesday. George Patterson was charged with having, on 19th March, at Masterton, assaulted' Edward Jewell, and stolen from his person £3 15s in money, a gold ring, and a pocketbook containing papers. The accused, who was undefended, pleaded not guilty. After hearing the evidence, which was similar to that recently given in the Masterton R.M. Court, ,the jury returned a verdict of guilty, and the prisoner was sentenced to three years' imprisonment,
(By Telegraph), Dunedin, April 10. James McFarren, a boy of fifteen, was charged with a criminal assault on a little girl not four years old.
