Fire at Fielding.

Fielding, Tuesday.

J. C. Thompson's old store, occupied on one Bide by Mr Fagan, of Bulls, as a temporary boot shop, and on the other side by Messrs Clark & Co,, of Wellington, as a temporary drapery shop, was burned this morning. The buildings were uninsured. The stock of Clark was insured in Wellington and Pagan's at Bulls, but the amounts are not ascertained. Tho five started in a coach house at the rear of the shop,

Fire at Blenheim, Blenheim, Tuesday. A. fire broke'out at a quarter to two this morning in a small shop occupied by Scotland, tailor, near Maxwell road bridge. It quickly spread to Carr's, tinsmith, adjoining. Both buildings were completely gutted. Very little stock was saved. Scotland was uninsaved. Caw had L2OO on the stock, and LSO on the building.' Carr, who who lias charge of the fire engine, estimates his loss over insurances at L7OO to LBOO. A VOLCANIC ERUPTION. Flames and Ashes Vomited Forth. Auceland, April 9.
