LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held in Wellington on Thursday, when there were presentMessrs J, W. Marchant (Chairman), W. W. McCardle, W, A. Fitzherbert, and D. H. Macarthur and 6. Beetham. M.H.R.'s The schedule showed that since last meeting 2429 acres 3 roods and 13 perches had been disposed of at an upset price of £765 17s 9d, of which £lO2 4s 4d was paid. An application from Mr F. Rhode, selector of section 42, Block X.. Mangaone, 1 to complete title was allowed. Mr F. Kennedy, selector of sections 9 and 10, Block XI, Mangaone, was allowed to capitalise unpaid instalments. As a favorable report was received from the ranger, Mr Wiles, selector of section 6 r Block XVI, was allowed to transfer the section on payment of. the overdue instalment, Mr J. Ryan was allowed to transfer section 1603, Block IX, Kairanga, to L. A. Abrahams, The Official Assignee was allowed to transfer perpetual lease section 115, Block XIY, Mangaone, to Mrs F, M, Budden on paying arrears. A schedule of sections to be sold on the 7th instant was submitted by the Commissioner of Crown Lands. It was resolved to send a notice regarding special settlements received from the Under-Secretary of Crown Lands, to the Associations. It was resolved to inform Mr Millett that he couid not complete his title to sections 203 and 204, Hunterville, before five years. Mr J. McDonald was allowed to select 150 acres for a homestead in his small run, section 9, Block XIV., Mangowhero, on condition that he made the necessary roads. In reply to Messrs G. Waterson and Son's application of 640 acres of Crown Land near Carterton, it was resolved to have the land surveyed at once. The applications'of Messrs Bayliss and McDonald to have the sections held by the late Mr C. L. "Vince transferred to them in trust for his children was granted on the approval of the children's advisers being obtained. The Alfredton Road Board's proposal for spending accrued thirds were approved, as were also those of Mauriceville and Wairoa. A report was submitted by the Commissioner, owing to which it was decided to fix the price of land at 15a for large sections and LI for small. The ranger was asked to re-value Mr L, Monagiian's suctions 46, 47, and 52, Block XI, Ongo, as that gentleman objects to the 'price fixed, The Wairarapa North County Council were granted permission cut totara from Crown lands, near sections 156, Tiraumea River, The Sandon Special Settlement Association siibmitted particulars of worb'Ykme on roads in their block and applied for accrued thirds, It was resolved to first inspect the work done, A letter was received from Mr J, R, Anderson claiming a refund of £123 4s 6d, cost ot surveying his run, No 47, Pohangino. Proposals for offering the unsold sections in Hastwell and Mangatainoko Village Settlements were submitted, the prices being £5 and £7 10s per acre. Mr Beetham presented a letter from Mr L Johnston claiming a refund of part of the interest paid on his section 2, Block I, Kopuaranga, but it was decided that nothing be done in the mattor, The Board then adjourned.
