CORRESPONDENCE.

Trout Fishing and Poaching. To the Editor. Pir—Who is the G. M. Park, who writes on theabove subjecl, and ofintelligent ideas, and smacks of the old world notions. He seems quite ignor«t of what sport is, There are some fti, and G. M. Park must to one of , them, who would rather spear or not a fish, or blow fish up with dynamite, £han angle in a', legitimate way. iKo one would ever have taken the trouble to write on the subject, if the fish were taken by fair means, and in a sportsmanlike manner The distinction of rich and poor is one of G. M. Park's own introductions, as many of the holders of licenses in this district are poor men. G. M. Park would hardly like mo to rule his placo and .take his groen-house plants, because I am unable to. afford a green-house. G. 1L Park must write from his stomach. Yours, etc., , Angler, March 9th, 1888. Sir,—l was greatly amused by rMug the letter of "G. M. Park,' iiiyour yesterday's issue in which he asks a string, of questions about trout fishing, and winds up by asking that some "intelligent ideas" may arise from a discussion ot his letter. Now - this is altogether quite too lovely. The idea, of anything "intelligent" arising from" <3. M. Park," is irresistible,

and smile. But although 6. M, Park is as usual very far beside tho mark, especially as regards public opinion and poaching, there is an aspect of the question which can bo more intelligible even to him, and I therefore warn him that the poar.hers arc all well-known to the police, that a mistaken clemency alone lias hitherto stepped in to shield them from well merited punishment, but that hearts are now hardened, and those who after this persist m taking trout illegally do it at their peril,—lam &c., Dot Dot Dash.
