The Emperor and Crown Prince, Still Improving, San Remo, March 6. The Crown Prince is now slightly bete, and has been allowed to walk in the gardens, this being the first time he has been out since the operation was performed upon him. Berlin, March 7. The Empe;oi Wilhelm is no better, and is still confined to his bed. San Eemo, March 7. An official bulletin, just issued, states that the condition of the Crown Prince ia satisfactory, excepting the larnyx which has not improved under the latest treatment, Professor Waldemar, who has just concluded a most careful microscopic examination of the expectoration from the throat of the Crown Prince, differs from Professor Kanswal, the Sti'asbui'g specialist, and declares the expectoration to be free from any cancerous indications.
Royal Silver Wedding, ; London, March 7. Her Majesty the Queen will dine with the Prince of Wales on the occasion of his silver wedding on the 10th inst, ■ What the Que'en Thinks, A letter from Her Majesty the Queen to a sister of the late General Gordon, who fell at Khartoum, has been published. Her Majesty's letter sympathises with the bereaved relatives, and deplores the loss of Gordon to the nation. It further expresses the opinion that Gordon's cruel fate leaves a stain on British arms. Extensive Government Frauds. London March 6. It is reported that extensive frauds have been discovered at the Devonport Dockyards, which compromise all ranks of the employees there, The detectives are now making a thorough investigation into the matter. It is not yet known whether the ordinary workmen are implicated in the frauds, but it is asserted that a number of officers and men on the permanent staff are mixed up in the dishonest practices which havo been going on for a long time past. A number of the copper workers have already been arrested for fraudulent practices. It is alleged that they have been in the habit of using Government material for private work, and that they have performed this private work during the hours in which they should have been engaged on Government work,
A Quicker 'Frisco Mail, London, March 7. The Postal Department have arranged that the colonial mails via San Francisco shall be despatched from here on Saturdays in future, instead of Wednesdays as heretofore, thus saving three days, owing to the faster service in the Atlantic.
