FIRE AT PAHIATUA.
Mt W. W. McCaidle Brant Out.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Pahiaiua, March 5. Mr MoCardle's dwelling house took Are at 7.80 yesterday morning, and was burnt to the ground, together with an outhouse full of prime seed potatoes, hay, etc. The chimney caught fire on lighting, and sparks, it is supposed, got on the.roof, which was a shingle one. The house burnt down very quickly, and little was saved. Mr McCardle is a heavy loser, and much sympathy is expressed for liitn and-his family. He lost in valuable plants alone about £IOO. The house was insured for £B7O and the furniture for £IOO, both in the Union. .
(From Our Special. Correspondent.) Mr McCardle's residence was burnt down yesterday morning, about eight o'clock. The chimney took fire, and ignited the shingles on the roof. AH was oyer in half an hour. The family are removed into an empty house near Mr Naylor, blacksmith.
