Live Stock Sale.

Greyhouth, February 20. At the sale of live stock this afternoon 106 head of cattle fetched on an average 21s per 1001b. The sheep numbered 447. Those from Wanganui fetched 8s to 10s; Christchurch, 7s 6d to 8s 3d, There were 58 lambs yarded, mostly of a poor quality, and fetched from 5s to 15s 6d each. Pigs numbered 136. Porkers (etched 35s to 40s, stores 26 to 295.

Live Stock Insurance. Dunedin, February 20. At a meeting of the New Zealand Plate Glass Company, in view of the retirement of the Live Stock Insurance Company it was thought that this kind of business might be undertaken. A motion was carried to alter the name to the New Zealand Platcglass and General Insurance Company, The directors will try the experiment in Australia first, and extend it if found profitable. The Laing-Slavin MatchWanoasui, February 20. The articles between Laing and Slavin were to have been signed tonight, but owing to the absence of Laing, his backer, Sutherland, declined to complete the matter; therefore it was postponed to the 27th, when Laing is expected to be present,
