Electric Light System, Auckland, February 17. The amended plan for electric lighting of this city submitted to the Council last night by Mr J. C. Firth provides for eight towers, Each tower will light a circle 50 chains iu diameter, aiid will havo on it four arc lights of 2000 candle power- each, but two additional lamps can be added if necessary, making 12,000 candlepower light for each tower. These towers will vary in height from 100 to, 125 feet. The present lighting of the city is about 5000 candle, power, The electric light system proposed gives 64,000 candle power.
