Sir,—lt is gratifying to hear that the Committee appointed to move in the erection of a grand stand aad seats for the accommodation and comfort of the public on days of recreation and pleasure in our public park has taken a step in the right direction by soliciting the services of an architect to prepare a plan and estimate of the cost of the proposed building, and it will also be gratifying to hear that a list of subscribers towards its erection will soon be placed before the public, so that the several public bodies, saw mill proprietors, and lovers of sport will have an opportunity of assisting by a liberal subscription towards its erection. I trust, sir, that you will also give the matter your support in the columns of the Daily. I am &c, Citizen. ' In the Masterton Tennis Club's Tournament, yesterday's play resulted in Mr H. B. Dyer beating Mr E. W Porritt, in tho first round of the Single Handicap. Several other toumamont game 3 will be played off this afternoon. Mr R. R.
