WOOL SALES.
Melbourne, December 5, • Messrs Dalgetty & Co. (Limited) held their usual weekly wool sale this aftomoon. There was a very large attendance of buyers, and the bidding throughout was remarkably brisk. A marked improvement, in tone was manifested, which was attributable to the news received of an advance in prices at the London wool sale, the depression of last week is fully recovered. One thousand eight hundred bales were offered, of which 1609 were disposed of at very satisfactory prices. Superior greasy merino sold up to lOd, and in some cases 10|d per lb;' medium to good ditto brought from to 9d, while inferior to medium sorts ranged from Gd to 7|d per lb. Medium to good crossoreds brought as much as B|d p/j-mcrmo lambs won' <>s high as IOJd per lb; scoured merinc and crossbred sold tip to Is 2fd; while medium washed merino realised, in some instances, llid per lb.
