THE examination for thirteen Scholarships, tenablo for two yeats from Ist .Tanu iry, 1883, offered by the Education Board, will bo held simultaneously in tlio Training College, Wellington, and in the Grey town School, on 'WEDNESDAY, the 30th November, at 10 a.m. The examination is open to all children whethor thoy are receiving their instruction ill Public Schools or nut, under 15 yearo of aw on the Ist day of Novembor instant. ' Tho names, ages, and uddressca of all intending competitors should be forwarded to tho Secretary not later than tlie lOthlust. Tho scholarships are thus appropriated: Six scho'arsliip's of £ls annual valuo, open to all children atteudinft any school in tho City of Wellington Two scholarships of £3O annual value, open to all children attending any school in the Waivarapa District Two suholarahipa of £3oannual value, open to all children attending any school in |the Wellington Country District Also, three scholarships of £ls annual value, open to all children in any school in the Wellington Educational District These scholarships are given subject to diligence and good conduct on the part of the scholars, and the regulations contained in the addendum to clause 51 of "The Education Act, 1887," which reads as follows ".—The successful competitor for any such Scholarship, shall receive the amount of his or her Scholarship oiily bo long as lie or she shall continue his or her education at any School or Educational Institution under the control of tho Board at which the higher branches of education are taught, but if there be no such school or institution in tho district whero tho holder of the Scholarship. resides, then at such school, subject to inspection by a Public School Inspector, as tho Board may approve of." The subjects of examination are those prescribed for Standard VI., by Order in Council, of date 24th September, 1878, but no scholarships will be awarded unless two-thirds of tho possiblo number of marks are obtained.
