(Before His Honor Judob Davy) . IN BANKRUPTCY. Mk G. A. Pownail applied, oil behalf of Messrs-Kerapthorne, Proasor, & Co,, to be'allowed to substitute notice by advertisement, iu place of personal service, on D. 0. Keiv, chemist,of Carterton, with the viow of having hiin adjudiaatedra bankrupt. Ho explained that the shop was closed, 110 one was on the premises, and Mr Keir was supposed to have left the district. His Honor ordered that the usual fo v m; of service be adhered to; viz. affixing the notice on the door of Mr Keir's premises, and that the Clerk of the Court hear the application in Chambors, .on a date to be fixodby liim. Applications for disoharges were granted in the following cases, the Deputy Official Assignee's reports being favorable;-Alexander Moritz Hirschberg, of Carterton; Benjamin Kimberley, of Greytown; and Biohard Hatch, of Masterton. Mr W. G, Board appeared for the two first named, and Mr Skipper for the latter. Henry Pope, James Ingley, George Bell, George Bayer, John Hmdley Bades, Edward James Hughes, Frederick Mueller, and William Albert Taylor, were.ordered to come up.for their dieohargea at the 1 next sitting; of the Court. Henry' Wagstaft, Thomas Udy, Jaeob Baumber, and George Henry Houghton, failed to • answer to their names when called upon. Be Benjamin Bdddex. Application for discharge. Mr Beard appeared for applicant and Mr Bunny opposed on behalf of the Official Assignee. ; Mr K, Stansfield, Deputy Official Assignee, on being sworn stated that at a meeting of creditors held on Monday; September 19th an offer of £2OO was received from Mrs .Budden for the Mangamahoe property, This being refused- Mr Budden offered £250, if the creditors would inolude half an aore of land adjoining the block. the money was in the hands of the Bankrupt's solicitor, who ha 4 -refused to complete the transaction unless the Land Board transferred the property. to Mrs Budden, and the estate paid Mrs Budden;£l3lss for -rent due. The bankrupt had absolute possession ofthe property since filing, and if the JJ2SO was paid without any deductions the estate would pay about 12s 6d in theL .
