The minutes of the last'meetmg were read and confirmed and the Treasurer reported a debit balanoe of £lO2 Oa 3d. Correspondence were readfromTara-
tahi Dairy Factory Co. re culvert on - the road leading to the Factory.- From R. R. Armstrong requesting that the road from Riohmond road by Educational reserve be declared open. The request was granted on the motion of Mr Parker, seconded by -Mr Dorsei, and that Mr Hughan be writtenjgkto . reimove the fence from said road, f inonejiiontli'frbmdate.'' ' '.^'

Mr Derrick explained that the,men always worked their full time, otherwise they did not get paid r 'for a full day's work Mr Derrick also explained to the satisfaction of the Board why ho did not have the piece of road done by tender as referred to by Mr Runner. On.the motion of Mr Rayner s«tos resolved to erect a gate at the fra/el pit on Mr Cuff's property, West Tamtam'.
Mr Perry, jun., waited on the Board 'in reference to a road. required by the settlers through sections 159 and IGO, and stated that, they wera willing to give half a. chain in width; for the road providing the Board fence tha same. . - !
On the motion of Mrßooth, seconded byMrßayner, it was resolved that the offer be accepted on the terms.proposed, , p Tenders for the followiug workl wero opened:—Sixteen chains .form'fc tion and metalling, East Taratahi L. Anderson £1 9s per chain (accepted) H, R, Burgess £2 per chain, Gardner and Co, £2O for the whole, W. Corleti - , £1 lis per chain, J. Monaghan £2 2s '"' 6d per chain. , Bristol Road, scrub-cutting ..and forming, 20 chains—Gardner & Co. 9s'9d per-chain (accepted), J. and G. Daysh 12s Bd, H.and R. BurgiAs, H. Wilson llsOd.M. Mr H, R, Bunny asked that tenders might be called for the work at Long Bush, and Mr Dorset asked the Board to : call tenders for.:the remainder of the work on Somerset Road.
Mr Rayner proposed- that No. 1 Ward should borrow £I7OO, under the Local Bodies loans" Act, 1880. Seconded by: Mr Stevens. : The Warden gave a-.schedule of the roads and the amount-for each, and the motion was agrcotVto. ••' A This concluded the. business, atff| the mooting terminated, ■/
