ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.
A meeeing of the above Board was held on Tuesday the 13th fast Present,—Messrs Knbbell (Chairman), Marsh, Benton, and Dunn. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Inwurd correspondence was read as follows]: —Eank acknowledging remittance, the signatures of new members, and forwarding deposit receipt for amount at credit of " G. L. to T, B," account, Receiver of revenue apologising for delay in sending statement of thirds accrued. | Returning Officer for the Woodville | District requesting the use of the Board's office for polling purposes. Masterton Road Board with plans for Alfredton District Road. Fiom Treasury in reply re section 21 of the "Looal Bodies Loans Act, 1886." Eketaliuna Road Board agreeing to pay share- of Engineer's expensos in taking levels & r c., and preparing l plans and specifications for work proposed on the Tawti taia Road. It was' resolved to give the requisite notice of the intention to,borrow £835 for the Tawataia Road,; 4300 for the lhiwaua Valley Road, and £BO for the Pah Valley Road, under the " Local Bodies Loans Act 1886," ; and to levy rates on the respective special areas for repayment of the', skid loans. Meetings of ratepayer* .interested in the proposed works were. fixed for the 11th October next at the Road Board Office. Resolved that the Engineer' be employed for some work on the Alfredton Bis-
tricfc Koad, tlie matter being left-in the hands of Mr March to arrange, ten-. d?rs for the work to be called. wheu the necessary plans are ready. Resolved that steps bo taken to ascertain the procedure and the probable cost to legalise the Ihiwaua road. Six tenders were received for engineering work on the Tawataia r6ad, Mr J. W. Beanford's at £7 10a per mile, being the lowest,: whs accepted- The following tenders for 38.75 chains of road formation were Vebeived:—<T. McMillan 47.214s .4(}., aij.d. .Chftrles Loran. £69 18s, the latter being accepted, The next meeting was fixed for the 11th October next, and the meeting adjourned,
