MASTERTON CRICKET CLUB.

The annual general: meeting of the above Club was held at Mr. Beard's office last eveuing (Monday). The' President, Mr F. G. Moore, occupied the, chair. The annual report, which shewed the Club to bo in a >ound liuancuil position, was read. The total receipts for the season wore £4315s 3d. The expenditure was L 43 Oh (id, leaving a.cash credit balance of 14s 9d. With the assistance of an entertainment held on 17th March, tho sum of Ll6 has been ex ended by the Clul) on tho permanent improvement of the Oval.

The following officersjypre elected for the ensuing year President, Mi' F. G. Moore; Vice-President.' Mr ,W. G. Beard; Secretary, Mr J H. Kibblewhite ; Treasurer, Mr 'C. Perry; General Committee, Messrs Wiciens, Bremner, lggulden, Jucbon, and Andrews. The question of electing a captain was postponed for the present, Mr C, Perry was elected practice captain. Messrs Moore, Bremner, and Perry wore elected a match committee and Messrs Jackson, McKenzie, and Moore a ground committee. It was decided after discussion, to admit youths under seventeen as members, at a reduced subscription of five shillings.Tho secretary was instructed to have one hundred cards with the rules of the Club printed. It waß decided to procure a lawn mower as soon as funds were available,

That application be made to the oval Trustees to expend what money they hatl in hand in laying a galvanized, iron pipe from the pump to the centre of the Oval to'be used instead of a hose for watering the ground A vote of thanks was '.passed to the retiring officers and also to choao mombera who have been actively engaged in - improvements to the ground.

Mr C, Perry who won both the batting and bowling trophies stated that he would forego his claim to tho bat for the former in favor of Mr Littlejohn, who had the next best tatting average, and who he considered was deserving of it. Mr.Perry therefore takes't'ho bat presented by the Secretary, for the be3t bowling average, and Mr Littlejohn the one proseiitod-oy Mr Beard, for batting.
