EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of this Board was hold at the suhoolliouae Eketahuna, on Hie 3rd instant. Present, Messrs BaylißS (:Cli;iinn;ui), Anderson, Beckratui, and Vince. The Secretary of th« Wollinaton ■; Settlement Association, asking tha Board 1 to pay for felling of the bush on the roadside through the township of Richmond, The Paymaster General, advising the payment to the Board's bank account of- £56 4b lid from deferred thirds, and £lO 5s 3d from perpetual leaso. .The Clerk roported that all the conditions required •by the Public Works Aot, re the jfcopping of the road for the site of tho office, , had beon complied "with. Mr 0. E.. Beokmao was appointed to meet' Mr Vince to paffi the works 011 the Maugaonij Valley Road sa Boon aa tliay wars complete. It was resolved that tlio Sooretary ot the' Wellington Special. Settlement- Association be., informed that the. main road through the township of' Richmoud belonged to Wairarapa North County Council, and the-Road Board cannot pipond any money thoreon. That Mr Davie be informed that the Board intend ;to. exp,end,the-money acoruing-. from.iiMMttott'on a brldgo on the road leading from liis section to its juhqlion with the Hawera Road. - That the'Boardagree to pay in - proportion a share of the cOsti of '.the.iTawatia Road. That Mr Anderson- have treoa removed from the' road leading to his section,' and that a. bill of 'Costs be sent to the owner, of the land from whence, the trees fell; Mr Penny waited/ on the Board requesting them to opeii the road leading from the school to the station, and do something" to the road through Eketahuna," He was informed that the private- QV?nera must open the piece of road, and that the Board intended to-do something, to .the.' "road through Ekefcahuua. A deputation consisting of Messrs Bacon, Bright, Murrel and -others, members of the Parkville Special Settlement Association, waited on the Board ro a. bridge over the Makakahi Rivor. The' Board offered to advance the Crown land rate on the blook for this purpose. The meatiiig then adjourned,
