• [TO THK EDITOR,| • Sir.—My attention was called - a few days ago to tho rumour that it waa the intontion of the Government to order sleepers for tho Wiwaka .'contract from Danevirke. . ; As <)Onsidered this most important question depriving our local sawmills, ifUrile, of much needed employment,; autßlso repeating amoat uuwiseproceeding-that some months ago, deatroyodour County road by needlessly , drawing .heavy timber for so many miles from Danevirke to Mauriceville, I deemed- it my duty to communicate Minister for Public Works on the spject. I enolose herewith for- publio information, tho Minister's reply, which lam glad to find is so-for 'satisfactory; • ''w lam, etc., ••• George Bekeham. " To Hoii.'E. Riohardsou,.
