ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.

The members of this Board met ml Tuesday the 23rd ult>, it being tff the first moetuigaitice the subdivision of the district. Present- Messrs Kobball, Napier, Smith, Benton, Hume, and Marsh Mr KebbeJlj ,aa in the last Board, was elected Chairman. Correspondence inwards was road as follows From the bank, advising a remittance from the Treasury of £340 on account of a 1 Mil. It was'; resolved that the uiouey be fixed deposit for three-mouths as little, or no work can be completed : before the expiry of that time. From County Council requesting a [tracing of the .Crowd. lands to be transferred with.-Mr Warren's properly from the Castlepoint district From .-Property Tax Commissioner, Stating that he finds that section 151 has alienated from J&. Crown. From D. McLacJilan, -with platis and specifications for work ot| |jie Alfredton district road, Springvale section. Resolved to call teuders fer 33.75, chains of said v?ork, tenders; to close on 13tb proximo. It was" also resolved' to. call for tenders for engineering work on the Tawataia road, the, work proposed to comprise the taking of levels,, prepare upecifiiiations and working plans for four miles ot the said road. In pursuance"of notices given it was resolvod that! the necessary stepß be' taken under the provisions of the Local Bodies" Loans Act, 1886, to raise .a loan of 11000 for expenditure in forming the Tuwataia - road throughput, aud £3OO for experidi- \ ture in formation on the Ihiwaua valley road. A proposal to expend a small sum on the main road .up the Tiraumea was negatived, till.such time as an adjustment of accounts between the subdivisions has been arrived at. Accounts amounting to £l6 3sjßl were passed for payment. Next miling was fixed for the 13th September and the Board adjourned,
