BOATING DISASTER AT WELLINGTON.
Yesterday" morning, about 10.30, five men put off from the Gear Meat Company's works at Petone for the purpose of taking a relief raan to the "Jubilee" freezing hulk, which was lying a short distance from shore. When about two-thirds of the distance o«t, theboat capsized, and four men were drowned, viz. Jas. Tetloy, Edward Williams, Samuel Tyndall and George Ashton, The bodies of tho first named three have been recovered, but Ashton's body lia3 not yet been found. Tetloy leaves a widow and four children, and Tyndall a wife and ono child. Williams and Ashton were single men. All the men were residents of Petone, and the catastrophe has cast quite a gloom over tho township. Great exertions were made to save the men, a Mr James Carter, of the Preserving Works, showed great bravery in swimming out to render assistance to them, An inquest will be-held to-day at Petono,
