NEW BUILDINGS.

1 A NKwresidenco to replace the statelj ' building destroyed by fire to January 2nd, has just been erected for Mr M, Caselberg on. the site of the former one at the junction of Worksop and Coluraba? Boads.v The-new building, 1 which is a single storied dne,:double T shaped, has been designed more foi comfort and convenience than anj pretence to architectural beauty; it being constructed with, a view ol having a large' expanse of- roof with'out: toy guttering in it.', The''ground measurement is, 55 feet frontage,-with a depth in the main building of;" 88 feet, the dairy and scnllery additions niakinga total length of lOiTeet. "On either side of the house verandahs are constructed, bringing the centre of; the building flush with the T*s at each end. The front/ which faces the north, has a verandahrunning the full length having a portico with/hoad ; light and fancy top over-'thei main entrance, which adds greatly to tho appearance of the-structure. The entrance hall is 10_x 10, the drawing and dining rooms being on' the'right and left respectively. These rooms/ which are 22 x IG, are lighted by Venetian windows, .the walls and ceilings (hall inoluded) ' heiug distempered and finished with a bold cornice. The drawing room fireplace is fitted, with a register grate, the hearth being set with Miuton tiles continuing up the sides, a white marble fixed fender making a very neat finish. .The dining room fireplace is an open, one, set; with Minton tiles, with black marble feiidor. The doors, architraves, skirtings, and all tho.internal fittings- aro of heart of riliiu/'.the varnishing'of which has brought out the grain of this most handsome-wood in a style-that must please the contractor and employees as well as.the owner, giving to the interibroßhe building an appearance that coald not be approached by the most accomplished grainer, The architect was Mr G. Fannin,, who has embodied comfort and convenience with economy in the construction'of the building, the builders were Messrs Brown and Rogers, who have finished the work.in a very creditable manner.
