CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD.
An adjourned meeting of the Board waß held on Saturday last. Present —Messrs A ndrew, Elder and Mauntdl, On the motion of Mr Andrew seconded by Mr Elder, Mr Maunsell was elected Chairman, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read from Akitiofcond Board requesting that a portion of the Timu valley road be opened for traffic. Mr Holmes, re Opening a road to the Fords' property. Mr T, L, Thompson, re transfer of property to another road district. Mr H, Warren, requesting the Chairman tgive notico re the transfer of the raumea.-property to the Alfrcdton / ■ riding, Mr C. 11. Miller, requesting that 8| chains ot road be metalled from tho Hotel towards his house, Messrs Elder and Co. le the newly surveyed line of 'road over the Black hill. County Clerk', with account. Same, re striking rate, Two applications for tho office of clerk, fc, were received. Mr McHiiti'hon'ii, being the lowest, was octepful' at per annum, Itesolred'r-Hiat the. question of the raid in the Tinui Valley be postponed for future infoi m n't ion. That Mr Holmes be informed that the Board find themwives unable to deal with the question of a road to the fords at present-. That the Chairman be authorised to get the drains cleaned cut between tho Hotel and Mr Miller's, That tho reply of the County Council re expenses of Wliakuroro branch line be considered at next ~ meeting, Mr McHutchon was apwfopointed Overseer to the Board at a of £1 per day when em- , ployed. That the regular meetings of tho Board be held on the last Saturday of each month, commencing with the ■ 25th June, That Mr Warren bo rerequested, to make a formal application for a transfer of his property. That each mefnber of the Board be appointed to sign cheques.
