The ordinary monthly meeting of. the Masterton Town Lands Trustees wag held at the Institute last evening ■ A'\\ (Friday). Present Messrs Feist JK' (Chairman), Haro, Perry, Lo.wee, and Parsons. Chapel streets, Mr Hare moved,according to notice;-'"That., the land' recently .acquired .by- the Trust in Bannister Street, be' surveyed into , building sites, and let on lease," He suggested that ut road be laid off, and named "Jubilee Street," and handed over to the Borough Council, with a hope that they would foim and metal the same, in consideration of the gift of land to the Borough for the widening ofßenall S.tiect, Mr Parsons seconded the motion, which was carried. A Committee, consisting of Messrs Feist, Parsons, J.'eiry," nnd Hare, wore appointed.to arrange for the surveying of the pioj oi'ty into sections with, a road thiough ili, and to ascertain if tho Borough Council would take over and form nnd uietul -the same as a public Btvcpt,, It was decided that tho •Finance Committee have power to pay tho amount iii hand of the picnic fund to the Jubilee celebration committee, the proportion of-amounts du«) to the Mastertou and •■Fcrnriilge schools'bo arranged, according to the school rolls. It was docidcd 'hat £SO bo placed at interest" in (he Masterton .Building Society for twelve months, and that tho balance of the Trust's funds be [placed with the same Society "at call,' Tho Treasurer reported a credit balance of £162 198 3d, Tho meeting then adjourned.
