Sir,—Some of your readers might like to know the sensation experienced by residents on tho Dixon oHtate who ' are compelled to inbalu the' arising from Hie gasworks, more fispeciatly when the officials are cleansing the.purifiers. The first feeling is a nameless horror at tho approach of danger that one experiences before tho reality overtakes him, . This is followed by severe retching, and, if you are not , too poor, sickness, with, in my case, blood spitting, Difficulty of brentliing • eventuate?, and severe pains in the ' ; x ; chest set in, with acute hefidaclie, and a sensation as if the top miatofr'' the cranium would like to J clear JMBW® Many of your readers have lived inlffr immediate neighbourhood-of the gas works in other towns, and I would like to ask tliem if these, are the usual symptonis produced or Ure-.tlioy peculiar to Mastcrton, ■ ■_ Yours etc., !
