SUICIDE OF A SOLICITOR.

(United Puess Association.) Dukedin, April 20. Mr A. S. Hay, a well-known solicitor, committed suicido this afternoon by cutting his throat. Latest particulars state that the suicide appears to have been most determined. Mr Hay, was living with his.siflter, who left him in tho house. On rotuming she found that he had takon a basin to hold the blood, and then hacked away at his throat with.-a blunt knife, the basin being full -of blood. He appears then to have gone to the bathroom, where tho bath was found with the bloodand water mised. Miss Hay at once procured' medical aid, and though when' the doctor' arrived Mr Hay was pulseless, lie tore away at the wound- with his nails, Ho died shortly afterwards. He was a singlo man, and it is supposed he committed the rash act while suffering nder some strong delusion.
