William Richard Waters was charged (1) that oil tlio 27th May 1886, he did embezzle the sum of £IOO, the prjrf| porty of tlio Northern Land, linan, acR Building Company, Limited; (2) on 20th July, 1886, he did embozzje a ?■ ' cheque for £l5O drawn in favor ofthe' Company by Herbert P, Rawaon.fand (3) that on the 20th October 1886, ho did embezzle a cheque for £173 2s-7d,' drawn by two Directors of thV-'Qofli' ■ P» n y* . • The prisoner ploaded not guilty, and ' ' v was defended by Messrs Jolljcoß and Skerrcfct, Mr Mjddlotoji.v'potidiioteil' ' the prosecution. ''' The evidence was similar to that produced at the lflDgthened examination held in (.he R.M. Court. The jury, who retired at 8.45, • returned at 9 o'clock, and the Foreman announced that they found the prisoner. ~ nob guilty. ' ' y .
